What is Nano-Clear?

Nano-Clear is a superior sprayed-on clear coating that dramatically rejuvenates the original colour and gloss levels to your joinery, vehicles, machinery and more.  It is chemical and solvent resistant, provides protection from long-term UV exposure, scratch resistant, all while reducing surface maintenance by 50%.

How does Nano-Clear work?

Nano-Clear Coatings penetrate deep into the smallest pores within newly painted or highly oxidized paint surfaces to form a highly cross-link dense / hard coat surface.  

Nano-Clear Coatings provide dramatically longer surface protection over conventional automotive, marine, aerospace and industrial paints including epoxies and polyurethanes.

How is Nano-Clear Different?

Nano-Clear Coatings are manufactured using proprietary 3D nanostructured polymers.  

These 3D nano-scale molecular networks form the polymer backbone of all Nano-Clear Coating Systems. Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis (DMTA) is utilized to calculate the "crosslink density" of coating polymers.  

Nano-Clear Coatings provide extreme crosslink density as measured using DMTA, including remarkable surface hardness, chemical resistance, extreme UV resistance.

How long does it take to apply Nano-Clear or recolour my joinery?

For an average 3 bedroom home, the Nano-Clear application process can be within 3-4 days.  For properties wishing to recolour we allow another 3-4 days.  Multi-level and larger homes please allow an extra week or two.

Do you have any guarantee?

Yes, Nano-Clear comes with a 5 year guarantee, and our expectation is that you will not see any gloss fade for 10+ years.

How much does it cost to fix faded joinery?

How do you protect my carpet, flooring's, walls and other belongings?

We take upmost care in our masking and protection phase, we create internal booths when spraying inside to eliminate any over-spray, and use wide paper and drop cloths wherever needed.  Sometimes paint pull can happen when removing masking, however we take upmost care when doing this to minimize this.

Can I change the colour of my joinery?

Yes, you can use any trend colour or customized colour of your choice.

Do I have to recolour my joinery?

No, you do not need to recolour your joinery when using Nano-Clear.  Nano-Clear brings back the original colour and gloss, and then prevents it from fading or oxidizing it for 10+ plus years.

*Recolouring is an addition choice, and we can help you with this too.

How long does it take for Nano-Clear to dry?

Nano-Clear is humidity cured and is generally touch dry within an hour, we recommend that you do not handle it for the first 4 hours, but you can wipe or clean the area after 48 hours.

Help, I have had retro-fitted double glazing installed and now the faded frames look terrible against the new frame work, what can I do?

This is an easy solution for Nano-Clear, we come in prepare the surfaces and protect them together with Nano-Clear, this remarkably brings back the original colour, bringing it in line with the new framework making the whole window look like new!

I am fitting Double Glazing into my home, can I change the colour?

Yes, when you retro-fit double glazing, you can choose any colour you wish, we then do a colour match to your chosen colour and spray the existing frame work to modernize your whole home.  We are happy to work with your chosen glazier too, just contact us and we can get the ball rolling.

We do all work on site, leaving you no security concerns during the process.

Will I see brush strokes?

Nano-Clear is sprayed on and we use professional quality spray equipment leaving you a beautiful finish.

What is crosslink density and why is it important in coatings?

Crosslink density is defined as the concentration of chemical bonds within a polymer. 

Higher concentrations of chemical bonds within a polymer improve physical properties. 

Conversely, lower concentrations of chemical bonds within a polymer decrease physical properties. 

Increasing crosslink density increases material hardness, chemical resistance and long-term UV resistance. 

Is the process smelly?

There is a smell during our spraying process, however this usually clears within 20-30mins with good airflow.  We do carry professional extraction fans if required. 

How does crosslink density relate to a coatings longevity?

High crosslink dense coatings provide increased molecular bonds. 

Increased molecular bonds are more difficult to break down by chemical attack, surface scratching and UV degradation from sunlight exposure. Highly crosslinked coatings provide increased physical performance and increased longevity as compared to lower crosslinked coating systems.

Nano-Clear Property Overview

The automotive industry commonly applies high performance "clear topcoatings'" over painted surfaces to mitigate the negative effects of environmental exposure (acid rain, harsh UV rays, car washing, stone chips...).  Automotive OEM clear coatings are well known to provide long-term surface protection against the environment when applied over painted surfaces.  The industrial paint market currently relies on pigmented coatings alone without the use of a high performance clear coating.  What is needed is a high performance clear coating designed to dramatically extend the surface life of industrial painted surfaces.

 
Nano-Clear® is designed to dramatically enhance and extend the surface life of "Newly Painted" or "Oxidized" painted surfaces by 10+ years.  Organizations have invested billions of dollars to protect high-value assets from corrosion, scratching, chipping, chemical attack and weathering.  Many of these assets were painted using inferior paint materials not designed to withstand long-term weathering and use.  Organizations have various options when these painted assets degrade:
 
1.  Do nothing and allow the paint weathering cycle to continue (resulting in decreased corrosion, chemical and UV resistance).
2.  Replace the existing paint system using the same conventional systems (epoxy topcoat, polyurethane or latex).    
3.  Enhance and extend the surface life of "New" or "Oxidized" painted assets by 10+ years using Nano-Clear®.
 
Conventional industrial paint systems including epoxies provide good corrosion resistance and initial surface hardness, but unfortunately fall short in long-term UV resistance and weathering. Two-component polyurethanes provide good UV resistance and weathering, but typically cost much more than epoxy or polyester topcoats. Unfortunately conventional paint systems like topcoats and epoxies begin the oxidization process or “chalking” from weathering within 6 months from application. This surface chalking phenomenon is actually degraded paint that resides on the surface from UV exposure and weathering.
